Human Rights:

As an independent human rights/advocacy centre, we have special interest about Issues regarding Human Rights, Social Welfare, Immigration, Nationality and Asylum. Consumer rights, Accident/Personal Injury, Gender Equality, Women/Children’s rights, Religious rights/freedom, Discrimination, Bullying at Work/School, Abuse/Threats/Violence, and Employer/Employees rights, Landlord /Tenant’s rights.

We also offer Research, Education and training through Seminars and Workshops to companies, community forums, and educational institutions. We hope to be accessible to the Learning Skills Council and Open College Network for our training programme. We will also open links to various organisations connected to such work

Mediation:

Alternative Dispute Resolution, Conflict Resolution, Settling disputes, Saving cost and time.

Relief:

Drop in safe haven for the voiceless, confused, visitors and people with little or no understanding or knowledge of the community, the system and where to seek help. Providing a Centre with resource information and effective referral.

Our Service:  Listening and evaluating clients needs and aspirations

                  Evaluating the rights and responsibilities of the client.

                  Explaining clearly revevant legal rules and possible implications.

                  Explaining available options and choices to the client.

                  Explaining how we can help pursue the rights or amicable solution.

                  Explaining the challenges or make referrals if need be.

                  Taking action according to client's request and interest.

The Client:     Is expected to be frank, honest and truthful.

                  Provide necessary documents available on the matter.

                  Decide what options to take after due consultation with us.

                  Arrange to acknowledge services and pay for things done on his/her behalf.

                      Report any complaints to the bureau manager or propagate our ideals.

We endeavour to keep up to date information on rules and regulations as it affects our service users’ . We also have access to the list of agencies and other service providers on a wide range of services. Complex legal cases are referred to specially accredited law firms and practitioners specialising on the subject matter.

Target Groups:

Regular/Irregular immigrants, Refugees/Asylum seekers, Ethnic minorities, Victims of abuse and violence, Victims of persecution, Youths, Victims of drug abuse/ Social exclusion, Women & Children, Low income rural/urban families.
